Thank you for your question.

I am sorry you are having a problem with the carburetor linkage. Without the engine model number, I am not quite sure which model you have. I posted an image below that shows how the linkage connects on many different models. Just click on the image to enlarge it. Once the image is enlarged, try to find the configuration closest to yours.

Q:

Why is my lawn mower leaking gasoline?

A:

Thank you for your question.

I am sorry you are having a problem with the mower. I know it can be difficult to see behind the carburetor. I recommend removing the two screws that secures the carburetor. Before removing the linkage, make note of where the linkage connects. Then take the linkage off. Now hold the carburetor level and check for leaks. If the carburetor is not somewhat level, it will leak fuel out of the vent. Once you determine where the leak is coming from you can order the parts from our parts website: Sears Parts Direct .

If the leak is not coming from the fuel line, I recommend replacing it also. The reason is the fuel used now will make the rubber line dry and brittle. It is worth do a little extra now than having to do it later
