I am sorry you are having a problem with the trimmer. The initial setting for the air mixture screw is 1 1/4 out. This should be close enough for the engine to start. If the engine still will not start, be sure the fuel mix that you are using is less than five weeks old. If the fuel mix is fresh, I recommend checking the engine for compression. The compression should be at least120 psi. If the compression is fine, put you finger over the throat of the carburetor and pull the rope a few times. You should feel a fair amount of vacuum. If you do not get much vacuum, the problem is a seal or gasket in the engine is defective. Without the proper tools, it will be difficult to determine where the engine is leaking.
