Question and Answers

Q:

How can I repair a Sr code on my 625-388260 water softener?

A:

The SR code is the code that changes how often the softener regenerates. The owner's manual gives very good instructions for adjusting the SR code. You can view or copy an owner's manual by following the instructions below.

Go to the Home page of Manage My Home and hold your mouse over home, select Products and manuals from the drop down menu.

For this model enter the following:

Type of Product Water softener

Brand Kenmore

Model no. 625388260

Select Find manuals at the bottom of the page to search for your manuals. Choose the blue Owner's manual (pdf) link for your product from the search results and it will open your manual for viewing online.

You can save a copy of the manual to your Home Profile or, on most computer systems, download or print the manual while you are viewing it.

If the manual can't be found, please call the Manage My Home Member Services Team at 1-800-803-6775, between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. Central Time. They will be more than happy to help you track down the manual.

Q:

What do I do when the appears to be no power to the water softener, but it is plugged in and the outlet is good?

A:

Thank you for your question.

I am sorry you are having a problem with the softener. If the faceplate will not light up the problem is either a defective transformer or faceplate. To determine which the problem is you will need a volt ohmmeter. If you have a meter, set it up to check AC voltage. Then unplug the transformer from the wall and remove the cover. Then trace the wires from the transformer to the control. Remove the wires from the faceplate. Connect the meter leads to the wires from the transformer. Once it is connected plug the transformer into the wall outlet. You should have a reading of 24 volts AC. If you do not have a 24-volt reading, the transformer is defective. If you do have the voltage, the faceplate is defective. The parts can be ordered from the following link. and on page 3-2 are the instructions for cleaning the nozzle and venturi. I also added a link to Kenmorewater.com with useful information about water softeners and how the work.
