Question and Answers

Q:

My kenmore dryer turns on, after a few minutes the flame turns off while it is still running. This happens every couple of minutes? Is this normal?

A:

Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

It is not abnormal for the burner to cycle off and on to maintain a normal operating temperature. If your clothes are drying in a normal amount of time then there is nothing likely wrong with your dryer. If your clothes are taking a little longer to dry than normal then I recommend checking and cleaning the venting system. I also recommend removing the lint filter screen and cleaning it under running warm water with a soft bristle brush. If you use fabric softeners; it can leave a clear layer on the screen which will restrict air flow and cause longer dryer times.

I hope this is helpful. If I may be of further assistance as more details become available, please reply to this post.

Q:

Electrolux range

A:

Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

As James suggested in the first response; adding the model number would be needed in order to look up the model specific technical data sheet. I searched several induction models and not one tech sheet listed a 5F fault code. Please verify the fault code and reply in the post with the model number for assistance.

You will most likely need to call a service technician with the proper tool and knowledge to diagnose and repair your Electrolux range.

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .

Q:

My elite cooktop has 5F displayed on all the settings what can I do to cancel that so I can use my cooktop

A:

Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

Without having the model number of your cooktop I cannot be certain what the fault "5F" would mean.

I will need to know the complete model number of the cooktop/range in order to provide any model specific information. If you could supply me with that information I will be happy to assist you further.
