Q:

Can you supply me with a list of the codes and definitions for my Kenmore Elite HE3 dryer model 110.42822203?

A:

The chart below shows the entire list of error codes for this washer with explanations. The Sud (5ud) error code indicates a suds lock. This is normally caused by excessive detergent causing too much suds. It can also be caused by not using HE (High Efficiency) detergent. Overloading the washer can also cause this problem. Try running a cycle with no clothes and no detergent added. See if suds emerge in the washer even though no detergent was added. If it does, then you could have been using too much detergent and you can have detergent residue in the washer tub that is contributing to a suds lock error. Run a second empty cycle using hot water with a cup of bleach added to the washer drum. Let this cycle run to completion and then run one more empty cycle to rinse the washer. This may wash the residual detergent from the washer. Use very little detergent when you run cycles in the future. Make sure that you are always using HE detergent. You may need as little as a tablespoon of detergent to keep from overdosing the washer and causing this suds problem.

If excessive suds is apparently not an issue, you may need to eventually replace the drain pump to correct this type of drain problem.

Q:

Fills but wont wash

A:

Hi Tamara,

Thank you for submitting a question to Manage My Life.

I am sorry you are having problems with your washer.

Most likely you have a bad door lock assembly. I am including an image below that details the diagnostic tests to determine the cause of the issue. Make sure to examine the door lock mechanism, sometimes there can be a buildup of soap or debris preventing it from functioning.

This image also gives you the manual drain pump activation so you can drain your washer.

The second image details gaining access to the control. Always unplug or de-energize electrical equipment before removing covers or attempting service. Be careful and wear appropriate hand protection when working around sharp metal parts. Make sure the P12 wires are securely attached to the control board. The P12 set of wires are covered with a grey wrap. The third image below contains the wiring diagram.

Here is a link to the parts list diagram for your Washer .

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .

Please perform the diagnostic tests detailed above and report back with your findings. I will be looking forward to assisting you again in the near future.

Thanks again for using Manage My Life.

Hi Tamara, I did not notice that you had replied to the first responder Dezeray S, until I had already posted an answer to your original question. The F32 error is a long drain (see image below), the F83 is the same as the DU we have already discussed, and the F68 is a pressure issue. The F32 could be caused by a clogged in the drain line or drain pump. I gave you the manual drain pump test in my initial answer above. Check the drain pump operation by running the manual pumps on the first image above. With so many errors going on at once we need to start with these two first. Follow the directions in my initial answer, and then test the drain pump. Let me know what happens and we can continue from there. Landell
