Question and Answers

Q:

What would cause my dishwasher to not come on?

A:

First, a volt/ohm meter will be needed to verify proper voltage at the dishwasher junction box. Secondly, the dishwasher has 2 door switches that must close when the door is latched in order for the dishwasher to operate. If either door switch failed the dishwasher will not operate.

If both door switches are OK, and there is proper voltage being supplied to the dishwasher the most likely failure would be the timer. There is always a chance of a loose wiring connection or a burnt wire too.

I recommend calling a service technician to diagnose and repair your dishwasher.

Q:

Why would the bottom rack slide back into the unit and also tip backwards?

A:

Your symptom indicates that the dishwasher is not secured to the bottom of the counter top or level. You may also need to adjust the door spring tensions too.

If the lower rack is tipping, check for missing wheels or bent roller wheel axles. If the roller axles are bent, you should be able to easily bend it back outwards.
