Model #580768310 Craftsman power washer, gas

Question and Answers

Q:

Craftsman pressure washer 580768310 not siphoning detergent

A:

Make sure that you are only using the low pressure setting on the nozzle to siphon the detergent properly. Follow the directions in the owner's manual carefully when using this feature. Here is a link for the owner's manual in case you need it: Owner's Manual .

Check the filter and the siphon tube to make sure that they are clear. These should be cleaned by siphoning a container of water after using detergent. A build-up of old detergent could be clogging the tube or filter if they were not cleaned properly.

If the siphon tube and filter are clear and unobstructed, then the chemical injection components on the pump are likely clogged. I recommend that you have a technician diagnose and repair this type of problem. Here is a link for the Sears Service website that has drop-off locations and labor pricing: Sears Home Services . Most areas have a new flat rate labor pricing that is extremely reasonable.

If you do not choose to repair the detergent dispenser on the pressure washer and it works okay otherwise, you may want to just fill a spray bottle with detergent and apply it to the area that you are cleaning verses using the detergent siphon feature of the pressure washer. This may be more economically palatable.

As long as the wand will adjust down to a low pressure setting, it will not cause the failure that you are describing. I do not recommend that you replace the nozzle or nozzle parts unless it will not adjust down to the low pressure setting.

Q:

how do i put pump oil in 580768310 pressure washer

A:

Thank you for your question. I will be happy to assist you. I looked up the model number you submitted. The pump on your pressure washer requires the oil to be filled from the top. In order to fill the pump you need to remove the pump assembly for the engine. Once you have the pump removed, pour the oil in next to coupling where the crankshaft fits. The pump requires 140 ml of 80W90 oil. You can purchase the oil at any auto parts store. Once you have the oil added, reattach the pump to the engine.     I hope this is helpful. Please let me know if you need further assistance.    Thank you for using Manage my life. Mark T.

Q:

I need instructions to install a 193473GS pump to a 580-768310 power washer with a Tecumseh engine.

A:

We have researched this pump and we have sold many of them. There has not been any problems with mounting the new pumps on the engine.

Rotate the pump and see if there is not a certain place that the pump will go into place and seal up as it should.

It doesn't matter about the studs and nuts if the pump mounts up and operates as it should.

If you are sure the pump can't be mounted on the engine, call parts direct and ask them to send you another pump. Sometimes we have a wrong part put into a bin at the warehouse. Maybe that has happened to you.
