Model #580768210 Craftsman power washer, gas

Question and Answers

Q:

Pressure washer model 580768210 soap won't work

A:

Thank you for your question on the soap not being pulled into the water stream.

These are a check ball and a string under the fitting that the hose for the soap solution attaches too.

If the check ball gets stuck it will not open to siphon the soap solution into the water stream.

It is a brass nipple fitting and if you remove that make sure you do not loose the spring or the little steel ball.

As you know the soap solution can only be drawn into the stream during the low pressure position on the wand.

Please make sure the orifice is completely clean.

Please let me know what you find out and we can continue to troubleshoot with that information.

Q:

I have a Craftsman power washer model 580768210. It has no pressure at the nozzle when running.

A:

Screw the nozzle out of the outlet end of the wand and run the pump. If you get a good stream out of the end of the wand without the nozzle, clean the nozzle by running some wire through it.

If you don't get a good stream out of the wand without the nozzle, remove the nozzle and clean the screen on the inlet end of the wand.

If you don't get a good spray with a clean screen and no nozzle, replace the unloader in the pump. The unloader is item 23 in the parts diagram.

You can see a parts list and diagram for the pressure washer at [searspartsdirect.com].

Q:

Pressure Washer

A:

Thank you for your question.

I am sorry you are having a problem with the pressure washer. You could be right by assuming the unloader is the problem. First, I recommend cleaning the inline filter and the nozzle. I have provided you with the instruction below for doing that. If the pressure washer does the same thing, I would suspect a sticky unloader assembly. The check ball in the valve is hanging open. After you have the unloader replaced, make sure to use pump saver when you store the pressure washer. Pump saver will prevent corrosion inside the pump and keep the seals lubricated. The part number for the unloader is 187879GS and can be ordered from our parts website: Sears Parts Direct .

Please let me know if you need further assistance on the pressure washer.

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired by a Sears technician. Here is a link that will provide the nearest drop-off locations: Sears Home Services .
