580752531 craftsman power washer has a high idle. I was washing my fence turned it off for an hour came back out and it idles really high need help?

Thank you for your question. I am sorry you are having a problem with the pressure washer. If the engine is racing when you start it the problem is either the linkage/springs are disconnected or the throttle shaft is gummed up. I recommend checking the throttle shaft first. To do that, you have to access the top of the carburetor. You may need to remove the air filter and the base to see the top of the carburetor. Once you have access to the carburetor, you can try to move the throttle shaft. If you move it by hand, it should spring back to where it was. If it seems stick, you can spray along the side of the throttle shaft with carburetor cleaner. Then work it back and forth to try to free it up. Once it seems free, start the engine and see if the problem ii gone. If the problem is still there, I recommend checking the linkage. The image below shows the linkage set up on the two styles this engine has. Just click on the image to enlarge it. If the linkage or spring is disconnected, reconnect it and check the operation. If it was disconnected this should cure the problem. If you still have problems, there is a slight possibility that the throttle plate came off. If this were to happen, you would have notice the engine running erratically before it started to race.    I hope this is helpful. Please let me know if you need further assistance.  Thank you for using Manage my life.  Mark
