Question and Answers

Q:

remove water pump from craftsman power washer

A:

Thank you for your question.

I will be happy to assist you with removing the pump. The pump on your model is secured with three bolts. The image below shows where the bolts are located. On some models, the bolts are from the top and some are from the bottom. You will have to look at your model to determine which way they are on your model. Just make sure to leave the unit up right when you remove the pump because the oil will spill out if it is tipped when loosened. Once the bolts are removed, the pump should slide off the engine shaft.

Please let me know if you need further assistance on the repair of the pressure washer.

Q:

Pressure Washer Not Pumping Water

A:

Thank you for your question.

I am sorry you are having a problem with the pressure washer. By what you have stated, I suspect the pump has multiple problems. Most likely the pump was stored with water in it. When this happens, the pump can start to corrode and cause the unloader to stick. If the unloader stuck closed, it blew the caps out while it was opening. Now the unloader is stick open it will not build pressure. You can try replacing the unloader first but if it does not cure the problem, I recommend replacing the pump. The parts can be ordered from our parts website: Sears Parts Direct .

Whatever you decide to do, make sure to use pump saver when you store the pressure washer over the winter or for a long period of time.

I hope this is helpful. If you need further assistance, please feel free to reply below.
