Question and Answers

Q:

580751650 how do i remove washer pump from engine

A:

Thank you for your question.

I will be happy to assist you. Removing the pump on this model is a little harder than most. The pump is bolted to the engine from inside the pump. To remove the pump you have to take the bolts out that secure the two halves together. You should see two longer bolts in the housing. Do not remove these bolts yet. Just remove the shorter ones. Then loosen the longer bolts equally. The reason is the pump has springs inside that are compressed. If you remove one bolt all the way, you run the risk of breaking the housing. Once you have the two longer bolts removed, the back half of the pump housing should come off. Just make sure you watch because some parts of the drive will fall out. After that is removed, slide the engine adapter off the crankshaft. Now you can remove the four 5/16 bolts securing the front part of the housing to the engine. Q:

I had to put a new o/ring on my pressure washer. How to keep the piston pivot shoes in place while I put the pump together?

A:

Put a light coat of heavy axle grease on the piston and it will hold the shoes while you put the pump back together.
