Question and Answers

Q:

My new (8/06/10) self cleaning oven gets dirty even when nothing spills over.

A:

Thank you for your question and I understand your concern. Your oven should not smoke or appear to have grease stains if you haven't spilled any grease or broiled any foods. Since the range is approximately 4 months old any residual rust preventative should definitely be burned off by now.

I'm concerned about the oven burner operation and if it's burning properly in respect to the fuel to air mixture. You did not indicate if the range is connected to Natural gas or Propane. I recommend to not using the oven until a technician has checked the bake and broiler burner operation.

Based on your symptom and details I highly recommend calling Sears and setting up an appointment to check the bake and broil operation.

I recommend calling Sears at 1-800-4MY-HOME or 1-800-469-4663 to set up a service appointment.

Q:

I bought a Maytag front loading washing machine on 11/06/10. Its a 2000 series and it sounds like an airplane when its in the spin cycle.

A:

Hi Vicki,

Thank you for submitting a question to Manage My Life. I am sorry you are having problems with your washer.

I looked at your previous question and I agree with Joey. This is most likely an issue with the bearings. And, as Joey stated, we cannot look at specific information for your washer without the model number. The model number should be located inside the loading door or on the back panel.

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .

Here is a link that you may use to view the parts list diagram and for parts purchases; Sears Parts Direct .

I hope this is helpful. If I may be of further assistance as more details become available, please reply to this post.

Q:

refrigerator laid down during transit. left upright for 24 hrs without plugging in and told to plug in for 3 min unplug for 10 (5-6 times) correct info?

A:

The refrigerator should be left upright for 24 hours after being laid down for transit. After 24 hours you can plug the refrigerator in and leave it turned on.

When a refrigerator is laid down for transit, some of the oil will run out of the compressor into the evaporator and suction line. Twenty four hours is adequate time for the oil to run back into the compressor.
