Q:

HOW TO CHANGE BELT FOR EXERCISER BIKE

A:

This bike has a fly wheel and a resistance magnet that is shown in the first image below. You can access those components by removing the side shield. You will need to remove the pedal on one side to be able to take off the side shield. The owner's manual has assembly instructions that will help you remove the pedal. Here is a link for that manual in case you need it: Owner's Manual . The parts list diagram shows that side shield and the screws that need to be removed in order to take it off of the bike. You can view the part list diagram (and order parts) on this page: Proform 56 Cross Trainer Model 831.283180 Parts . I added the technical information for the console in the 2nd, 3rd and 4th images below. The 5th image shows the wiring diagram for the bike.

This information should help you examine the components and determine the cause of your problem. I did not find a video available that will show how to fix this bike. Hopefully the information that I provided will help you. If you need more assistance, reply with additional details.

If you get to the point where you need to have a service technician examine and repair the bike, you can schedule service through this link: Sears Home Services .

Thank you for your question. I am sorry you are having a problem with the treadmill. To diagnose this problem you will need a volt ohmmeter and confident in checking live voltages. If you have a meter, unplug the treadmill, and remove the motor hood. Then click on the image to enlarge it. The image has a comprehensive flow chart for diagnosing the incline problem. Q:

Pro-Form 395 E Elliptical Exerciser

A:

Thank you for your question.

I am sorry you are having a problem removing the arm. Without the model number on the frame I am not sure what style set up you have. The manufacturer has two types of arms. They both have a bolt in the center that secures it to the crank. First, you need to loosen the bolt then look inside the arm. If the arm has threads cut into it, you need to use a crank puller to remove it. If you do not see any threads, you can use a 2 jaw puller or just loosen the bolt. Then pull out on the arm and have a helper hit the head of the bolt with a hammer. Once you hit the bolt, it should break it loose. After you remove the arm you can replace the belt.

I hope this is helpful. If you need further assistance, please reply below with more details. .
