Question and Answers

Q:

Trouble taking the drive sprocket off axle it is rusted to the shaft. I heat this area with a torch?

A:

Thank you for your question. I am sorry you are having a problem with removing the sprocket. If the shaft is rusted I recommend cleaning the shaft with emery cloth first. Once the shaft is clean, you can soak the shaft and sprocket with a quality penetrating oil. After you let it sit for a few hours try to tap the sprocket off the shaft with a hammer. If the sprocket does not move, you have to heat the hub of the sprocket to break it loose. If you end up heating the shaft be sure to keep the flame away from any spilled fuel or the fuel tank.

I hope this is helpful. Please let me know if you need further assistance. Thank you Mark.

Q:

I have snow thrower modelv 536-887990, terminal wire 611118 dettached 536-887990

A:

I was not able to locate terminal wire 61118 and I'm not clear in understanding where this terminal wire is located. The 120 volt electric starter is a complete assembly. The power cord plugs in the electrical outlet and the other end plugs directly into the start box. The starter motor is wired to the push start switch. The starter switch has two black wires connected to it. One black wire is the L1 voltage supply and the other black wire connects to the starter. The white wire in Nuetral and it connects to the starter motor. The starter box/junction box is wired directly to the starter through a separate cord. There is no wiring information for the starter box or starter or wiring. The electrical starter assembly is a non servicable part as shown in the link above.
