There has been some work being done to the website and you might have used it during one of those times. I pulled the pdf file of the manual up and opened it easily.

Snow Thrower model 536886260, how to install the auger drive belt?

A:

Thank you for your question.

I will be happy to assist you with replacing the belt. I am not sure what you are referring to when you are talking about a 6 inch bar. I have posted the instructions for replacing the belts below. Just click on the image to enlarge it. These instructions are out of the manual. If you do not have the manual you can click here to load it.

Please let me know if you need further assistance.

Q:

The auger on my Craftsman gas snow thrower keeps coming out of the bearings. How can I fix this?

A:

If you don't have a parts diagram for the snowthrower, go to [www.searspartsdirect.com]. Enter the model of the snowthrower and select the "auger housing assembly" page.

You will need to replace both auger shaft bearings (item 525).

There might be some wear on the ends of the axle shafts that go into the bearings. If the axle shafts are worn, the gearbox needs to be replaced.

Check the sides of the auger housing for damage also. If the auger housing is damaged and is wider than normal, you need to bend the sides of the housing back to the original shape.

To replace the auger shaft bearings, you will need to remove the pulley and bearing from the impeller shaft and remove the auger, gearbox, and impeller from the auger housing.
