Model #536885202 Craftsman snowthrower, gas

Question and Answers

Q:

My recent question about Snowblower model 536-885202 -- Gunputty

A:

Thank you for your question.

I see that you have reposted your question saying you have figured out the problem. In addition to making sure, you empty the tank in the spring I recommend using a fuel stabilizer all winter long. This will make sure you do not have any fuel related problems in the future. Most of the service calls I ran were no starts because of bad fuel.

If you need any assistance in the future please keep us in mind.

Q:

snowthrower 536885202, auger contol cable snapped.

A:

Thank you for your question.

I should be able to help you with installing the auger control cable. You are correct the cable goes through the control bracket then connects to the idler arm on the bottom. Tip the snow blower onto is nose and have someone hold it for you while you connect the cable. The idler arm has a pivot bolt and an idler pulley. You should see a hole that has signs of wear around the hole. The cable connects to that hole. Once the cable is connected, adjust the guide and test the operation. I have provided you with an image showing how to make the adjustments.

Please let me know if you need further assistance.

A:

The end of the cable attaches to the idler arm. The idler arm is used to tighten the belt. Tip the snow blower onto its nose to access the idler arm. There is a hole in the arm that the z end of the cable fits into. Once the cable is attached slide the tensioner back to remove the slack from the cable.

Q:

How do I remove the shaft from a Craftsman snowthrower model number 536-885202?

A:

I think you are referring to the pulley on the auger shaft. If this is true the auger shaft unscrews from the auger shaft. The threads on the pulley are left hand. Turn the pulley clockwise to remove it.

You can get an owners manual for your snow thrower which has the instructions for removing the auger in it. Go to www.managemylife.com and enter the model of the snow thrower in the manual search field.
