Question and Answers

Q:

clutch springs 536292522 Craftsman Cultivator

A:

Thank you for your question.

I am sorry you are having a problem with the cultivator. I looked up the model number you submitted. The clutch springs for this unit are not available separately. The reason is the springs usually do not fail. If you would like to order the clutch, you can do so from the following link. Replacement clutch for a Craftsman cultivator model 536.292522.

I hope this is helpful. Please let me know if you need further assistance.

Thank you for using Mange my life.

Q:

clutch springs 536292522 Craftsman Cultivator

A:

Thank you for your question.

I am sorry you are having a problem with the cultivator. I know it is frustrating when you cannot get parts of an assembly separately. This unit is manufactured by Murray.  They did not offer the springs as a part. I looked at other models made by different manufacturers and they have clutch springs. Here is a link to those springs. If they look the same as the springs used in your clutch you can give them a try. The problem is I am not sure of the rating of these springs. If they are not stiff enough, the clutch will not disengage.

Please let me know if you try these springs. I am sure other users would like to know if this is an alternative to replacing the clutch.

Thank you for using Manage my life.

Q:

I have a rototiller (Craftsman). I am replacing the worm gear. It has a key way the shaft does not. Will this gear work just pressed on or do I need to add a key way in shaft or buy a new shaft?

A:

The information we have on the tiller show the gear box only as a complete unit. I suspect the worm gear you are trying to install is from a different tiller and will not work in this one. If you use it you will have to cut a keyway in the shaft and put a key in it. The gear will slip if it is pressed on.
