What can cause my Magnavox 50MF231D plasma to have a flashing blue led?

First thing to do is to unplug it for a few minutes then try another ac plug. Try removing the surge strip or adding one. This is one of the few things that you can try without needing service. The repairman will be needed to troubleshoot. Some of the things that will help him troubleshoot is if the blue led blinks when you plug it in or when you try turning it on. If it does blink when you hit power, then he'll see how many times it blinks. Knowing the symptom when it went down will also help, like was it raining that day or did you see half of the picture go black or distorted before going out. The range of problems you can have is pretty big right now, it needs to be narrowed.
