Question and Answers

Q:

I need a manual for Edge 490 bike and I can not find model number. I bought this used. Patty

A:

Thank you for your question.

I searched for a copy of the manual on our site but did not have any luck. I searched online for the manual and again no luck. The model number tag on these bikes is usually located on the frame. Most of then need to be tipped on their side to see it. If you can find the model number tag, it might have a number for the manufacture. Often times the manufacture will email you copy of the manual.

I hope this is helpful.

Thank you for using Manage my life. Mark

Q:

I had asked about the display on my Proform treadmill. I tried changing the batteries. It didn't work.

A:

Your treadmill has a speed sensor mounted on the frame near the pulley on the front roller. If this sensor is not sending a signal to the console it won't display information.

To check the speed sensor, unplug the treadmill and remove the hood over the front end of the treadmill. The speed sensor needs to be 1/8-1/4 inch from the front roller. If the sensor is in place and not working. Replace the sensor.

If the sensor is properly positioned, the console will have to be replaced.

Q:

Why does my treadmill only run one speed?

A:

The model number you gave me is incorrect or incomplete. I cannot give you any specific information on this unit without a complete model number. I have included a portion of an owners’ manual that I think may be similar (See below). This section discusses the settings on the console. NOTE: I intend for this to be a rough guide only. Try the troubleshooting I have included and if you require further assistance please resubmit question with a complete model number and more details. I will be looking forward to helping you again in the near future.
