Q:

Kenmore Washer Model # 48102/48106

A:

I assume that your washer begins with the prefix 417. . . such as 417.48102 . . . or 417.48106 . . .

On that type of washer, the control will normally signal an error code when the washer stops and will not continue in the cycle. That error code normally points to the cause of your problem. I provided information in the images below that should help you recall or determine the fault code that is being signaled. If you cannot recall the fault code, you can run that diagnostic test to test the major components. The 4th image shows the wiring diagram for your washer. Loose wiring connections on the control board or a component could be causing your problem. You can use that information to check the wiring connections if necessary. Be sure that you unplug the washer before accessing internal components.

If you need parts, you can order them from this page: Kenmore Washer Model 417.4810 . . . . Be sure that you unplug the washer to disconnect electrical power before accessing internal components and replacing parts.

If you need more help, reply with additional details and the full model number of your washer. That model number should be on a sticker around the opening to the tub. Open the door to view that area.

If you get to the point where you need to have a service technician diagnose and repair this failure, you can schedule service through this link: Sears Home Services .

Hi Kalman,

Thank you for submitting a question to Manage My Life.

The flashing LEDs are most likely an error code. I am including the tech sheet for this type of washer. The way to read error codes is explained on the first page under "To recall an error code". Follow this and if you can identify the error code, the second and third pages will instruct you on the repair and testing procedures.
