Question and Answers

Q:

carpet cleaner model # 47385930400 brushes not turning how to troubleshoot

A:

Thank you for your question on the scrubber brushes not rotating.

Check to see if the speed selector is turned to the on position.

Check the Tool Mode lever is in the proper position.

Check and or clean the turbine motors filter screen.

If the screen is plugged with lint the air turbine will not drive the brushes.

I have given you an image below to locate and clean the filter. You will need to turn the unit over and behind the brush block is the pull down air filter.

Please let me know if that solved the problem and if not we can continue to troubleshoot.

Q:

my carpet cleaner 47385930400 brushes still won't turn is there a belt I need to change

A:

Thank you for your question.

This machine does not use a belt to drive the brush assembly. It uses an air turbine motor ran off of the air flow that the suction motor creates.

• There are a few reasons why the brush assembly is not turning.

• The handle has to be released and hinged back to open the air duct door for the turbine to run.

• Next, check the air flow filter for any lint build up that will restrict the air flow to the air turbine motor.

• To clean this filter turn the unit up side down and locate and pull out the Red filter and clean.

• If the filter and airflow is clean you will need to check the brush assembly by removing the brush assembly and check the drive shaft that goes into the air turbine.

• Before we remove the brush assembly, try to rotate the brush assembly by hand. If it turns very easy the drive shaft is broken.

• To remove the brush assembly compress the 4 plastic tabs and pull out on the brush assembly.

• Check to see if the drive shaft is broken. If it is the brush assembly will need to be replaced.

• If the brush drive shaft checks ok then the turbine motor as a problem.

• At this time I would recommend that you have your carpet cleaner serviced by a technician.

Q:

What is wrong when I hit the find button and nothing downloads?

A:

I searched for the owners manual and found and opened it. Something must be wrong with your computer. When you click on the find button, it doesn't move or change. If you are on dial-up, it might take awhile to get the manual.

The owners manual will give you instructions for cleaning the hoses and checking for the problem in your carpet cleaner.
