Question and Answers

Q:

INTERNATIONAL HARVESTER MODEL 47

A:

Thank you for your question on the timing of the older model 47 IH square hay baler.

I am sorry but I do not remember the full process for timing the baler. It sounds like you may have sheared a shear pin or the timing for the twine ties are not in time with the plunger. What I do remember that if you sharpen the knives and move the plunger of until you get a clearance between the plunger and the knives of about 5/32 of an inch it should tie the knot better.

I will give you a link for acquiring the service manual for this baler below.

IH model square baler manual .

Yesterdays tractor has the service manual for this baler . You can also call them @ 1-800-583-2651.

Thank you.

Q:

417.44152400 Error Code 47

A:

That E47 code normally indicates that you have a bad door lock assembly. In rare situations, a wiring problem or a bad control board could cause that code. If you want to fix this problem yourself, then replacing that door lock assembly (part 131763202) should fix your problem. You can order that part from this page: Door Lock and Switch Assembly for Kenmore Washer Model 417.44152400 . Be sure that you unplug the washer before accessing internal components. That link for a previous answer that Marc posted in the above response shows how to replace that component.

If you suspect that you have a wiring problem or a control board failure, reply with additional details and we will assist you further.

If you get to the point where you need to have a service technician diagnose and repair this failure, you can schedule service through this link: Sears Home Services .

Q:

I have a 3" belt sander model 315.11721. The motor runs fine, the belt is good, the pulley slips.

A:

I felt sure the woodruff key would be stripped. Sorry for the bad information.

The driven pulley (item 47) has a set screw or a roll pin holding it on. Look carefully around the pulley and you will find something holding it on the shaft.
