Question and Answers

Q:

what does code f 05 mean

A:

The "F05" fault code indicates a Water Temperature Sensor Error. If during the water heating step in the wash cycle, the water temperature sensor (NTC) value is out of range, the "F05" error code will be displayed. See image below for further instructions.

Potential Causes:

  1. Check the Water Temperature Sensor resistance. It should measure 9.7K ohms at 86 degrees.
  2. Check connections to the Water Temperature Sensor
You will likely find the wire connection had come loose from the temperature sensor. Without having the model number of your HE3t washer I will not be able to confirm if the heater and sensor is located at the lower backside of the tub or at the front lower section of the tub. Disconnect the power cord from the power source before removing the front lower access panel and checking for loose connections on the temperature sensor.

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .

Q:

How to replace part number 418 2817 on opener Model 13953615SR? Please tell me steps. Thanks

A:

Unplug the garage door opener from the power. Loosen the chain at the trolley and remove it from the sprocket on the opener.

Remove the outer cover from the motor unit of the opener.

Remove the 3 screws that hold the sprocket and gear assembly to the top of the motor unit and lift the assembly out the top.

Remove the clip and the gear that drives the limit switch. Note the position of the door and of the limit switch. be sure they are in the same approximate positions when you reassemble.

Remove the screws that hold the motor to the motor unit housing and remove the motor unit. Mark the wires as you remove them so you can put them back as they were.

Drive the roll pin out of the motor shaft and slide the worm gear off the shaft.

Q:

Craftsman lawn tractor -- engine seized

A:

Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

Remove the spark plug and then see if the engine will spin over. If it battery and starter is okay and the engine will not spin over, then the engine very well could have seized up due to the lack of oil circulation when it was on the severe sideway incline.

It would likely cost less to replace the engine rather than having it rebuilt. I was not able to price the replacement engine. The parts list shows the replacement engine is part #311707-0028-E1.  I strongly suggest taking the mower in for an estimate of repair. It may cost less to have the engine replaced but I can't be certain.

If you get to the point where you need to have a service technician diagnose and repair this failure, you can schedule service through this link:Sears Home Services.
