Q:

Husqvarna 455 Rancher

A:

Thank you for your question on the chain saw.

From experience I have found that if the saw is cold blooded when starting from cold it is running too lean.

One way to confirm that is to take a little fuel and remove the air cleaner and drop it down the throat of the carburetor.

If it starts quickly I would open the low speed jet on the carburetor about a 1/8 of a turn.

Since you have are very knowledgeable with these small engines it I am sure you have tied a number of things that have not worked.

You may also have to adjust the throttle screw to get the engine to idle correctly.

Please let me know if it works for you and we can continue troubleshooting to get this saw to start easier.

Thank you for the update. I didn't think you would have had a way to check the compression other that feel on the pull cord. I would have thought the dealer would have done the compression check. I believe it should be between 95 to 110 psi. I am glad the dealer is going to repair it for you under warranty. Sam A.

That sounds great. With the compression release it is a little hard to tell by just pulling the rope. Sam A.

Q:

improper flame on lpg dryer

A:

Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

Based on your symptom it sounds like the pressure regulator and/or the LP orifice was not installed. The kit should have come with orifice and the blocking pin too.

I added a link below below with the instructions from a previous answer.

How to install the PCK 3100 LP kit?

I hope this is helpful. If I may be of further assistance as more details become available, please reply to this post.
