Question and Answers

Q:

my kenmore dryer 101 70902990 starts on it's own. It runs fine otherwise and heats okay

A:

Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

I'm not clear in understanding what you mean when you say "it starts on its own". If your dryer is starting when you set the timer without pushing the Start button then the start switch is likely shorted.

It can also stop and start on its own when the timer reaches the "Wrinkle Guard" position which is normal.

I added an image below with the operational information of the different types of wrinkle guards. The type of wrinkle guard you have will be printed above the wording "Auto Moisture Sensing" next to the timer.

Reply with additional details if needed for further information.

Q:

How do I remove the cover on a Kenmore Elite Washer Model No. 22062 101? I've searched YT and found nothing.

A:

Hi Roy,

Thank you for submitting a question to Manage My Life.

I am including a set of images below that demonstrate the disassembly of a washer like yours. Always unplug or de-energize electrical equipment before removing covers or attempting service. Be careful and wear appropriate hand protection when working around sharp metal parts.

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website; Sears Home Services .

Here is a link that you may use to view the parts list diagram or purchase any parts needed for your appliance; Sears Parts Direct .

I hope this is helpful. If I may be of further assistance please include more details in a reply to this post.

Hi Roy,

Thank you for submitting a question to Manage My Life.

The LF indicates a long fill. You are most likely experiencing an issue with the pressure sensing portion of the washer. The pressure switch is located in the console and depends on a pressure hose that runs down to the tub to sense water level.

The first thing I recommend is running the diagnostic tests I am including in the images below. See if the drain pump will run in the 99 second test (highlighted in yellow). Also make sure the pressure hose is intact and not blocked or kinked. The remaining checks will require the use of a multi meter. If you have a meter and are confident in your technical abilities please reply below and I will be happy to assist you further.

Please perform the diagnostic tests detailed here and report back with your findings. Be sure to record any failures and when they occur along with any error codes that are displayed.
