Question and Answers

Q:

Kenmore 790.465935 Electric Range Temperature way off after replacing clock module and temperature probe.

A:

Thank you for your question on the calibration of the new oven control parts.

You should not have to re-calibrate the new control.

Even if you needed to you would only have a 35 degree plus or minus range window to calibrate into.

Are you sure that you have the correct oven control and or oven temperature sensor.

The part number for the sensor is: 316217002.

And the part number for the control is: 318296802.

Please make sure you have these parts.

I can give you the calibration instructions but I one or both of these parts you received are bad. You can check the sensor with a meter and it should be 1100 ohms at 80 degrees.

You cannot check the electronic control.

Reference the image below for calibrating the oven control.

If that does not help then I would return the control for an exchange or have a technician look at the range.

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .

Please let me know what you find out and we can continue to troubleshoot with that information.
