Q:

my 42" hdtv wont turn on

A:

What you have described is not a good sign for a LCD TV. The panel assembly is an LCD screen with a backlight of fluorescent tubes to light it. It sounds like there was an arc where the bulbs connect to their power source. If the bulb or the connector to bulb is damaged, then you will need a new panel assembly. The next process will be to call service and have a technician look at it. As for parts availability, I can only look up power supplies and main boards. I think that you will be unable to fix this set if it did short and kill a bulb.

Q:

Craftsman 42" mower

A:

Thank you for your question.

I am sorry you are having a problem with the tractor. Usually when the belt keeps coming off it is because the belt keepers are too far away from the pulley. First, inspect the belt and make sure it is in good shape. If it is, go ahead and install the belt. Then inspect the keepers and the guides. They should be about a 1/8 to 1/4 from the pulleys. If you find any out of adjustment you can bent them closer.

Now to the brakes. With the tractor turned off have someone push the brake pedal while you watch the brake lever on the transaxle. The lever should move back and forth. if it is moving I suspect you just have to adjust the brakes. then image below shows what nut needs to be tightened to adjust the brakes. Tighten it a 1/4 turn at a time and check the operation.

I hope this is helpful. Please let me know if you need further assistance.

Q:

Hi Question About a mower 42' deck

A:

Thank you for your question on if the drive belt for the deck is the same.

It will depend on the model and engine size of the two different models.

If you would reply with the model number for the two different tractors these came off of I can compare the drive belt for each model.

However, in mean time I cannot tell how these two different 42" decks compare and if the tractors had single or twin cylinder engines so I would say that the belts are not the same.

Please let me know what you find out.

Thank you for the update on the blade engagement mechanism. There are so many things that are different when you change to a different style deck and this is one of them. Some of the units used a cable pull and some used a series of levers to engage the blades. Since I do not know what the model of the tractors and the blade engagement types I will not be able to help you. I am sure it can be done by I know of no conversion kit available that would work for you. You may have to install a bracket and use an engagement cable system to get this to work on the new deck. . I wish I could be of more help but we are restricted by not re-engineering the equipment and changing it from the original design. I hope you will be able to figure it out so you can use the rebuilt deck. Sam A.

Thank you for the update Anthony. I am sorry but the only way that I can tell the age is with the model and serial number from the tractor it was attached too. The serial number has in its numbering system the age as to when it was built. Sam A.

Thank you for the update. The year is concealed in the serial number so that is what you need to get to find out how old it is. Sam A.
