Question and Answers

Q:

How remove string head on trimmer?

A:

Thank you for your question.

I am sorry you are having a problem with the trimmer. I looked up the model number you submitted. According to the parts list this model came with a brush cutter attachment. I posted an image below that shows how to remove the blade on what should have come with the trimmer. If this information does not match what you have, please reply below with any numbers that are on the lower portion of the drive shaft. There should be a model or stock number. Once I have it, I can tell you how to remove the cutter on that attachment.

I hope this is helpful.

Thank you for using Manage my life.

Thank you for posting more information. First, you should remove the spark plug wire from the spark plug. Then remove any trimmer line in the old head. Once the line is removed you can pull the cap off the end of the trimmer. After the cap is removed look inside of the part left on the end of the shaft. You should see a metal ring around the shaft pushed against the plastic part of the old cutter. The metal ring is a push nut. The push nut has to be removed to take the rest of the head off. The best way I have found to remove the push nut is with a small screwdriver and a pair of needle nose pliers. First, use the small screwdriver to get under the nut and pry it up enough to get the needle nose under it. The grab the ring with the needle nose and try to work it off the shaft. Most of the time, the ring will break before you get it off. This is normal. I hope this is helpful.
