Question and Answers

Q:

Washer will not spin and drain only fills and washes and stops.

A:

Thank you for your question.

I am sorry you are having problems with the washer. On this model, the lid lock has to be closed for the washer to drain. I recommend unplugging the washer and removing the front cover. I have provided you with the instructions for removing the cover below. Then locate the lid switch and remove the black/red and the black/white wires. Next place an insulated jumper wire between those wire and secure them so they do not touch anything. Carefully plug the washer in and select a drain cycle. If the washer drains, you should replace the lid switch. The part number for the lid switch is 134936800 and can be ordered from our parts website Sears Parts Direct

Please let me know if you need further assistance on the washer.

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .

Thank you for using Manage my life.

Q:

where is my thermal fuse located on my kenmore stacked washer dryer?

A:

Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

The "thermal limiter" for the dryer is located on the inside wall of the rear panel of the dryer. You will need to remove the top of the dryer to access the "thermal limiter". I added an image showing where the thermal limiter (key#36) is located. NOTE: Disconnect the power cord from the power source before removing the top of the dryer.

The thermal limiter #134120900 for Kenmore model 417.797812704 can be ordered from Sears Parts Direct.

I hope this is helpful. If I may be of further assistance as more details become available, please reply to this post.
