Question and Answers

Q:

My Kenmore dryer model 41788052700

A:

Hi Jim,

Thank you for submitting a question to Manage My Life.

The first thing I recommend is checking for error codes. The error codes are extremely important in the diagnosis of this type of dryer. This dryer has a way to recall error codes. If the control detects a problem it will identify it with an error code. I am including this information in a set of images below.

The function sequence test will reset the dryer for normal use.

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website; Sears Home Services .

Here is a link that you may use to view the parts list diagram or purchase any parts needed for your appliance; Sears Parts Direct .

Please perform the diagnostic tests detailed here and report back with your findings. Be sure to record any failures and when they occur along with any error codes that are displayed.

Q:

I try to start my dryer, but it beeps three times and doesn't start.

A:

Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

Based on your symptom and details, the control panel could be locked out. I added an image below with the instructions for lock and unlocking the control panel.

If your able to program the cycles and options but only beeps when start it pressed could also indicate the door is not shut fully or possibly a faulty door switch.

I hope this is helpful. If I may be of further assistance as more details become available, please reply to this post.

Q:

I have a Kenmore dryer model 41788052700; I think something is stuck behind the drum can you help?

A:

You did not specify what symptoms your dryer has or if something of yours is missing. If you are hearing something as the drum rotates something could be loose in a vane.

This is an extremely labor intensive project, I recommend calling an experienced service technician to better evaluate and possibly repair your appliance.

I have included below an illustrated set of instructions on drum removal, the vane removal instructions along with cabinet tear down are included as well. You will need to decide if this is something you are comfortable doing.

Be careful, and always wear gloves when working around sharp metal parts. Always disconnect power to electrical appliances when removing the covers, or attempting service.
