Question and Answers

Q:

I've just moved, and can't seem to fit the plug for my Kenmore dryer model #41784252500 into the wall socket.

A:

Thank you for the question.

I will be happy to assist you with the cord problem. If the power cord is too short, you can purchase a longer power cord. The power cords come in different lengths. Use a tape measure to estimate the length you need. Once you know about how long of a cord you need you can purchase the cord from Sears or any large home improvement store. I recommend taking a drawing of the outlet with you, to be sure you get the correct cord. Once you have the cord click on the image below to install the new cord. Before plugging the dryer in make sure, the cord connections are tight.

I hope this is helpful. If you need further assistance, please feel free to reply below with more details.

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .

Thank you for using Manage my life.

Q:

Dryer beeps and shuts off

A:

Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

I recommend taking a resistance measurement of the thermistor with an Ohm meter. It should measure 50,000 at room temperature if good. If it does not measure approximately 50K, replace the thermistor. I added an image below with instructions and some additional information too. The thermistor is part #134587700 which can be ordered from SearsPartsDirect . NOTE: Disconnect the power cord from the power source before accessing the thermistor/temperature sensor.

I hope this is helpful. If I may be of further assistance as more details become available, please reply to this post.
