Question and Answers

Q:

kenmore model number 41744252501

A:

That link for a previous answer that Marc H. posted in the above response describes one scenario that would cause the problem that you are describing. I recommend that you pull out that dispenser drawer in your washer and clean it thoroughly. Make sure that the siphon hole at the top of the standpipe in the fabric softener and bleach dispenser compartments are clear. Check that dispenser housing. Make sure that the drain at the bottom front of that dispenser housing is clear.

These tips may help you resolve that dispenser problem. If the fabric softener and bleach still won't dispense after checking those issues and correcting any problems, then you may have a problem with the control or the valves. The image below shows a diagnostic test that you can use to check the operation of the control and the dispenser. This may help you determine the cause of your failure. If you need more help diagnosing this problem, reply with additional details and we will assist you further.

If you need parts, you can order them from the Sears PartsDirect website. Be sure that you unplug the washer before accessing internal components.

If you get to the point where you need to have a service technician diagnose and repair this failure, you can schedule service through this link: Sears Home Services .

A:

This washer will normally display an error code on the console when it will not spin. I provided the technical information for this washer in the images below. I recommend that you recall the error code as shown in the first image below or that you run the diagnostic test to determine the cause of this failure. The troubleshooting tests are also shown for the various error codes. NOTE: Some of the technical tests shown below involve live voltage checks. You should not conduct any live voltage checks described below unless you are completely confident in your technical ability to safely measure it . If in doubt, I recommend that you have a service technician diagnose and repair the washer. Here is a link for the Sears Service website: Sears Home Services .

How can I diagnose my washer model 41744252501, it will not spin?

A:

Hi Chipman,

Thank you for submitting a question to Manage My Life. I know how frustrating it can be when appliances do not function properly.

This washer has a test routine you can run that will help in the diagnosis of any problems the control detects. If the control detects a problem it will identify it with an error code. I am including this information in a set of images below.

Please perform the diagnostic tests detailed here and report back with your findings. Be sure to record any failures and when they occur along with any error codes that are displayed. I am looking forward to assisting you again in the near future.

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .
