Q:

replace bellow on kenmore front load washer Model # 41743042300

A:

The links provided in the above response pertain to a different type of Kenmore front load washer. Here is a link for a previous answer that describes how to replace the bellows in your type of washer: How do I fix a leak in the black rubber rim in the door of my Kenmore tumble action washer?

This is an advanced repair that can be difficult to complete properly. If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .

Q:

wiped bearing ???

A:

Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

The bearings are not available as a separate part. The rear tub assembly comes with the bearings pressed in from the manufacture. The rear half of the outer tub is part #131525500 for Kenmore model 417.43042300 which can be ordered from Searspartsdirect.com

If one of the spin basket support arms attaching the spin basket to the spin shaft has broken loose, it will also cause a thumping noise. Open the door and push upwards on the front leading edge of the spin basket and note any up and down play. Rotate the spin basket a few degrees and repeat pushing up on the basket to see if there is any play. Continue this until you make a compete revolution. If it there is up and down play, the spin basket support arm is likely broken loose where it attaches to the back of the spin basket.

The complete tub assembly and basket will need to disconnected and removed from the rear because the front panel is not removable. There is not a service manual available. It's just a matter of removing the top, front lower access panel and the rear panel and disconnecting all the components and wiring from the outer tub and then removing the tub from the rear. To separate the front and rear tub halves will require removing all the bolts securing the two halves together. The basket will slide out through the front of the tub. Remove the belt and the pulley and the basket should pull out of the rear tub and bearing.

I added a couple of images with the basic procedure.

I hope this is helpful. If I may be of further assistance as more details become available, please reply to this post.

John: The warranty states in your Owner's Manual that "For the lifetime of the washer from the date of purchase, Sears will replace the stainless steel wash basket if it is defective in material or workmanship. You must pay the cost to have it installed". This means that Sears will remove and replace the wash basket and that you will not have to pay the wash basket. You will however be responsible for the labor charge or any additional parts. To get the wash basket at no cost, a Sears technician will have to perform the labor. You can call Sears at 1-800-469-4663 and set up a service appointment.
