electric ignition modual.

Thank you for your question.

I am sorry you are having a problem with the grill ignitor. When the button is pushed, you should hear a clicking noise. If yours is not clicking, the problem could be a shorted ignitor or defective module. To determine which is the problem remove the wires on the back of the module and push the button. If you hear the clicking, the module is fine. If there is no clicking the module is defective. I recommend checking the battery connections before ordering the module. Sometimes the connectors will rust. If you find it is rusted you can scrape the connectors with a small screwdriver and then recheck it. the module can be ordered from our parts website: Sears Parts Direct .

Please let me know if you need further assistance on the grill.

Thom,

I will be happy to assist you. Installing the ignitor can be tricky. First, open the doors to see if you can see behind the knob console. If you can see, the ignitor and you have enough room to remove the ignitor you are in luck. Just remove the button first. Then remove the nut behind the button. The ignitor should come out. Once you have it out transfer the wires one at a time to the new ignitor. Then reassemble the grill in the reverse order.

Chances are you do not have this style. To replace the ignitor on this model you have to disassemble the grill. Usually you can remove the knobs and the console to access the ignitor. I am sorry we do not have any written instructions for replacing the ignitor. Be sure to take pictures as you go. They may come in handy when you reassemble the grill.

I hope this is helpful. Thank you for using Manage my life. Mark T.
