Question and Answers

Q:

how to thread model 3 385-15510200 sewing machine

A:

Thank you for your question on threading the sewing machine and downloading the manual.

Just in case you cannot open the file for the attachment on the sewing machine I took the two pages out of the manual and put them in the image below.

I hope this will help.

Q:

machine won't function

A:

Thank you for your question on the hand wheel will not turn.

Pull out the hand wheel lock and put the machine in the bobbin winder mode.

If the hand wheel turns freely then this will eliminate the drive system.

Then re-engage the hand wheel lock see if the machine will turn over my hand.

If it does not then it could be a number of things.

I think I would start and the other end and remove the bottom cover off the gear box for the shuttle.

If you sew daily then the half and shuttle gear may have a lot of lint built up in the gear glands and has locked up the machine.

On this model this area is not easy to get too.

If you have a sewing light you can tip the machine on its back and open the bobbin case door and remove the shuttle lock ring and then the shuttle hook and bobbin case and see if you can see it the drive half gear has a lot of lint built up in the gears.

It that appears to be clean then we need to look at the take up lever area when you open the side door to see if thread has wound around the needle bar take up levers.

The main shaft bearings may also be a possible problem. They will get dry and seize up and will need to be lubricated and worked to get loose.

Please let me know what you find and we can troubleshoot further if we still have not found the reason for the problem.
