Q:

My sewing machine is not stitching properly

A:

Thank you for your question on the sewing machine not completing stitches.

The first thing I would suggest you do is to re-thread the top thread path from the thread spool all the way to the needle.

The bobbin case should be just snug enough that when you suspend the bobbin case by the thread and then dip you down and up like you are using a Yo Yo motion of the bobbin case should drop only about 2 to 3 inches and stop.

When you get that done put it back into the machine and now try to sew.

If it will still not sew then because you were trying to sew a very heavy think item you may have slipped its timing.

Remove the bobbin case and then remove the case cover locking ring but leave the half moon shuttle in place.

Lean the machine back little so you can observe the shuttle hook as you turn the machine over by hand slowly.

Make sure the machine is set on straight stitching and then observe the shuttle hook and turn the hand wheel until the need bar is all the way to the bottom of its travel and then bring it back up only about less than a 1/4 of an inch. At that position the very point of the half moon shuttle hook point should be in the middle of the needle shank just at or slightly above the eye of the needle.

If it is not then it has slipped time and we will need to retime the machine.

Please let me know if you were able to sew with the machine from the instructions on the first part of the instructions and if not we can continue if you discover that the machine is out of needle to shuttle hook timing.
