Question and Answers

Q:

GE profile top freezer too warm

A:

We can likely provide some technical tips that may help you resolve this problem but we will need to have the model number of your GE Profile refrigerator.

Here are some general tips that may help:

  • Check the back wall of the freezer for excessive ice or frost when the cooling deteriorates. A problem with the automatic defrost system could be causing the temperature fluctuations.

  • Monitor the compressor motor when the freezer is too warm. If the compressor is not running, you could have a problem with the control, the compressor or the wiring.

An intermittent problem can be difficult to diagnose. As noted above, reply with the model number and we will try to provide some detailed troubleshooting tips.

Q:

what is error code F 02 mean

A:

Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

The "F02" fault code displays when the drain time exceeds 8 minutes. This can happen if the drain pump filter is restricted or if there is too many suds due to the wrong type of detergent being uses or too much detergent being used.

I added an image below showing how to access the drain pump filter. NOTE: Be sure to have all the water removed from the tub before removing the drain pump filter. You will also need to disconnect the power cord from the power source before removing the front lower access panel.

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .
