kenmore stove

A:

This Kenmore Gas Range 3627515190 does not use a pilot light. It uses a glow bar igniter system similar to the one shown in that link for a previous answer provided by James R. in the above response. Your ignition system is slightly different. It has a round Carborundum igniter. The technical information on that igniter is shown in the first image below. You can check to see if this igniter is glowing by removing the bottom oven panel as shown in the second image. If the igniter is glowing but the flame on the burner won't light, you could have a weak Ignitor WB13K0004. A technician will normally check the amp draw through that circuit using a clamp-on ammeter. If he does not detect the minimum 2.5 amp draw through that circuit, then the igniter would need to be replaced. If you have an ammeter, you can check this issue. Most people don't have an ammeter and it would not make sense to buy one for this single test. In this situation, if the igniter is glowing but the burner won't light you can try to fix the range by replacing the igniter. This is a risk since you could have other problems that would prevent the burner from igniting.

If the igniter is not glowing, you could have a problem with the thermostat or the wiring in the circuit. A bad safety gas valve could also cause this problem.

If you determine the cause of your failure and need replacement parts, you can order them from the Sears PartsDirect website.
