Question and Answers

Q:

My oven has stopped working. The model number is 3627361892. The stove beeps and flashes F2. Can you help?

A:

The F2 error code is telling you that the oven temperature has exceeded 590 degrees with the door unlocked or 990 degrees with the door locked.

The electronic range control (ERC) senses the oven temperature by the resistance of the oven temperature sensor. As the temperature goes up the resistance of the sensor increases and the ERC converts the resistance to degrees.

Sometimes sensor fails and gives high or low resistance readings. Sometimes the ERC fails and calculates the temperature wrong. Sometimes a relay on the ERC sticks and the temperature goes too high. Sometimes there is a bad connection between the sensor and the ERC causing high resistance and the ERC thinks the temperature has gone too high.
