Question and Answers

Q:

My Craftsman blower model 358797120 doesn't start. Do I need a new carb kit with primer bulb and fuel lines and filter or could it be something else?

A:

I recommend replacing the parts you listed. You might first check to see if you have fire. You don't want to replace these parts and find out there is no fire.

Q:

I've replaced the sparkplug and blower still will not start. It has fresh gas and everything is tight. I can smell the gas, but still will not start.

A:

Thank you for your question.

I am sorry you are having problems with your blower. I recommend checking for spark to the spark plug. To check for spark you need to remove the spark plug. Then reconnect the spark plug the wire. Now hold the bottom of the spark plug next to the spark plug hole. While you hold the plug, have someone pull the starter rope. When the engine turns over you should see the spark plug sparking. If it does not spark the ignition coil is most likely defective.

Q:

Lawn blower fuel line replacement

A:

Thank you for your question.

I will be happy to assist you. The small fuel line is the supply line. This line will have the fuel filter attached to it. The supply line should be long enough that the filter can reach all areas of the tank so if the blower is tipped the filter can move with the fuel. The larger line is the return line from the carburetor. That line just goes into the tank about a 1/2 inch. I have found a video that shows how to determine which line goes where. Click here to watch the video.

The blower has two lines. The first line is part number 530069247 and is 140" (3.56mm) OD X .080" (2.03mm) in size. The other line is part number 530069216 and is 3/16 OD X 3/32 ID in size.

I hope this is helpful. Please let me know if you need further assistance.
