Question and Answers

Q:

NO SPARK 358795180

A:

Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

The clutch is threaded onto the end of the crankshaft.  I added a youtube video showing the basic procedure for removing the clutch. You will need to remove the spark plug and insert a few inches of rope into the cylinder to prevent the piston and crankshaft from spinning when removing the clutch. Be sure and have the piston in the down position before inserting a few inches of rope and make sure to not insert all the rope leaving a few inches sticking out. Rotate the clutch counter clockwise to remove the clutch.

Q:

358795180 little spark-- what are the readings it should be at ?

A:

Brian,

I am sorry you are having a problem with the engine. If the coil is putting out a little spark, I recommend checking the air gap. The air gap is the space between the flywheel magnets and the ignition coil. I posted an image below that shows how to check the air gap. Click on the image to enlarge it. If the air gap is fine, I recommend removing the small wire from the ignition coil and rechecking the spark. If you still do not have good spark I problem is either a defective coil or weak magnets on the flywheel. I recommend the coil first because the magnets hardly ever fail. I found a video that will aid in diagnosing the engine. Click [ here | http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=endscreen&v=hHGSXrzYZZQ&NR=1 ]to watch the video.

I hope this is helpful. Please let me know if you need further assistance.

Thank you for using Manage my life.
