Question and Answers

Q:

How do I get my pull rope back on the chain saw correctly? I have a Craftsman model 358351810.

A:

When the starter rope comes off a chainsaw, it means the starter rope broke. A new rope will need to be installed in the starter.

Installing the starter rope and getting the rewind spring rewound to the proper tension is a tedious and possibly dangerous job. If the starter spring comes loose while you are coiling it, it unwinds violently and can cut you or damage an eye.

I suggest you take the chainsaw to a Sears Repair Center or a Sears Retail store and get a technician to install the new rope.
