Question and Answers

Q:

Broken Drum Sprocket 358351202 Craftsman Chainsaw

A:

Thank you for your question.

I am sorry you are having a problem with the chainsaw. Remove the bar and the chain from the chain saw. Place a metal punch or chisel on the outer edge of the clutch. Make sure you are on the clutch and not the drum. Rap the chisel with a hammer to rotate the clutch in a clockwise rotation. The clutch will unscrew from the crankcase shaft. It will normally screw off easily.

If the engine crankshaft rotates with the clutch drum, remove the spark plug. Fill the engine cylinder with soft clean rope so it will jam the piston. This will let you unscrew the clutch drum. Be sure to leave the end of the rope out so it can be removed. I found a video that shows how to remove the clutch. Click here to watch the video.
