I will be happy to assist you. If the problem with the chain and bar came right back I suspect the problem with the saw is a worn sprocket. When the sprocket wears down, the bottom of the chain will flare out and jam in the bar. I recommend replacing the sprocket. The parts can be ordered from the following link. Craftsman chainsaw parts Then inspect the chain. If it does not look severely worn, you can file down sides of the driver teeth so it moves free.

Over time, the gas cap can warp and become difficult to remove. When this happens, the cap has to be replaced.

I have searched for the information on the gauge if the chain but could not find it. I will call Oregon tomorrow to get the information and update this posting. They should be able to give me there part number for their chain as well.
