Question and Answers

Q:

how do i route and connect throttle cable on Craftsman chainsaw model 358350802

A:

Thank you for your question on the routing of the throttle cable.

You will need to remove the side cover from the handle to install the cable into the throttle trigger.

From the back side of the filter box the cable goes through a grommet in a groove cut in the body and into the handle assembly.

The cable has a ball on the end that fits into the trigger.

I hope this will help.

A:

I am sorry I misunderstood that you needed the other end. There is a hole or series of holes in the throttle lever on the carburetor that is spring loaded. Take the point of the L on the cable and feed it into the hole on the throttle plate and flatten out the L. When you pull the throttle trigger it will need to pull this throttle plate all the way open and then when you let go of the trigger, the spring on the throttle plate will pull it back and close the throttle back to idle. If this is not the case I can contact the manufacture to see if we are missing any throttle lever wires. Please let me know how it goes and reply if that is not working for you. Sam A.

Q:

chain saw mod# 358350802 ordered part # 530012550 new part not threaded will it self thread or is it incorrect part

A:

Thank you for your question.

I can understand you concern with the part not threaded.

If you are referring to the spark plug hole, it sounds like it missed a step in the process of being made.

If you are referring to a different location on the cylinder please let me know.

The carburetor and exhaust mounts should be tapped for threads.

If it is one of the mount holes on the side of the cylinder it will be a self tapping hole.

I would contact parts direct and tell them it is a defective cylinder head because the spark plug hole does not have any threads and get a new one sent to you.

Please verify that I have understood you correctly.

I will help in the process if necessary.

Q:

I have a Craftsman chainsaw m/n 358-350802 and I need to replace the fuel line in the tank. How do you replace the fuel line that attaches to the filter in the tank. Where does the end opposite the filter attach to?

A:

The fuel line pushes through the hole in the wall of the fuel tank. Push about the same amount of fuel line into the tank as the old line had. You can hook the fuel line with a clean piece of wire and pull the fuel pick up out of the opening the gas cap screws on. Disconnect the pick up from the old line and connect it to the new fuel line outside of the fuel tank.

I am sending you an image that shows the routing of the fuel lines.
