Question and Answers

Q:

fuel line 358350160 Craftsman Gasoline chain saw

A:

Thank you for your question.

I am sorry you are having a problem with the chainsaw. We do not have any written instructions for replacing the fuel line on chainsaws but I will try to help you. First, remove the air filter cover and the air filter. Then draw a diagram of how the fuel line is routed. I have also provided you with an image below showing the fuel line circuit. Then remove the all of the old fuel lines from the saw. When you are ready to reinstall the line cut one end so that it is tapered about an inch up. This will give you something to stick into the hole of the tank. Once in the hole reach into the tank with long forceps and grab the line and pull it through. Once you have it pulled in cut the pointed end off and install the filter. The line should be long enough so the fuel filter is on the bottom of the fuel tank. Then do the same for the return line. The only difference is the return line only has to be sticking in the tank about a half an inch.

Q:

Unable to start chainsaw.

A:

Thank you for your question.

I am sorry you are having a problem with the chainsaw. By what you have stated I recommend checking the fuel line routing first. I have found a video that shows how the lines should be routed. Click here to watch the video. If the lines are routed correctly, pour a teaspoon of fuel mix into the throat of the carburetor and try to start the chainsaw. If the engine pops or start, I recommend cleaning the carburetor. I have found a video that shows how to clean the carburetor. Click here to watch the video.

I hope this is helpful. If you need further assistance, please feel free to reply below with more details.
