Bob, Based on your description I think I found the hose for your vacuum. The hose I found threads onto the vacuum. Just copy and paste the following link to see that hose. http://www.sears.com/shop-vac-shop-vac-9192700-2.5in-diameter-x/p-SPM74459416?prdNo=9&blockNo=9&blockType=G9 Please let me know if you need further assistance. bob42100, I am sorry I could not find just the coupler. If you have the packing for the hose you purchased you can return it and purchase the correct hose. You might also try looking at a local store for the hose. They may carry what you need. Thank you for using Manage my life. Mark

Q:

Why did my wet/dry vacuum suddenly quit working and will not start after it was briefly plugged?

A:

Check the outlet to make sure that it is working and that the vacuum is properly plugged in. You can unplug the vacuum and check the wiring connection of the outlet cord. If you find no problems, then the motor has likely failed. The price for replacing the motor will likely be as much as buying a new vacuum. I recommend replacing the unit if the motor will not run.
