Problems with Craftsman Lawn Tractor - Hydro-Gear Transaxle 322

A:

I am sorry you are having problems with your tractor. I will try to give you all information needed to fix the tractor. The first question is have you removed the rear wheels. The rear wheels have a square axle key that drive them. I have provided you with an image below showing the placement of the axle key.

If the axle key is in position, the next check to make is if the drive belt is still on. With the tractor on a level surfaced and the engine off look under the tractor at the drive belt. The belt should be free of slack and go around all of the pulleys.

If the belt is fine put the tractor in neutral and try to push it. If you can push the mower, you know the brake is not the problem. If you can not push the tractor the problem is likely a stuck brake. You will need to mover the break lever on the transaxle to see if it is sticking. If it is stuck you should be able to free it up by spraying a little WD-40 on the brake lever. Then work it back and forth.

If your tractor has a hydrostatic transaxle, I recommend you try to purge the air out of the system. The purging instructions can be found in your owner's manual and I have posed them below.

Next check the brake lever on the transaxle. If it has been sitting for a long period of time it might be stuck on. The lever is located on the right side of the tractor inside of the frame. I recommend working the lever back and forth to make sure it is moving freely.

When you are looking under the tractor, have someone move the shifter. When the shifter is moved, you should see the shifter on the transaxle move. If the shifter is properly attached, have someone start the tractor and let out on the brake. Now carefully look under the tractor at the Trans axle drive pulley. The drive pulley should be spinning. If the pulley is spinning, the problem is most likely a defective transaxle.

I hope this helps get the tractor going. If you need further assistance, please reply with the details of what you have found.

Q:

Dishwasher Kenmore does not drain. Model 587 144 322 00

A:

Hello,

Thank you for submitting a question to Manage My Life. I know how frustrating it can be when appliances do not function properly.

From your description the drain impeller may be damaged. It is fairly common for them to strip out and then spin on the motor shaft. You can replace the impeller, but you will have to disassemble the sump/motor assembly. I have included a set of illustrated instructions below.

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .

Q:

kenmore washing machine error code

A:

Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

The "F13" fault code will display if dispenser assembly motor is not able to be driven to its proper position. Linkage or dispenser motor could be jammed. Sometimes manually rotating the dispenser motor came gently will get the dispenser motor working again.

The mechanical linkage connecting the dispenser motor to the dispenser will need to checked. The wires connecting the dispenser motor assembly to the Central Control Unit (CCU) will need to checked for any loose or bad connections. The dispenser motor will need to checked with an Ohm meter.

I added a couple of images below to reference. The dispenser motor should measure 1400 Ohms of resistance when measured with an Ohm meter. NOTE: Disconnect the power cord from the power source before removing the top panel. To remove the top panel, remove the screws along the back of the top panel. Slide the top back and then lift it off.

I hope this is helpful. If I may be of further assistance as more details become available, please reply to this post.
