Location of spring part #38 / 3660060000 32017235 Craftsman Sabre saw

Hello and thanks for the inquiry about your saber saw, unfortunately we do not have the exact answer to where the spring attaches because Sears does not make repairs on hand tools due to cost and liability. However based on the parts breakdown and my research I also think the spring keeps tension on the blade roller assembly. If so it would have to press down on the top of the roller support one end on support the other on case housing.
