Question and Answers

Q:

I am getting a F7 02 code on my kenmore electric range model # 790.4661. I have read many of the questions and answers but still need help.

A:

I understand your concern and since you have already replaced the Oven Control/Clock Timer and it' still displaying the fault codes we can assume the failure is likely the touch panel.

The "F701" fault code is likely caused by a loss of a keyboard tail connection.

The "F702" fault code is likely caused by a shorted keypad.

Since the Electronic Oven Control (EOC) has been replaced, the failure is likely the Glass Touch Panel providing you do not have a loose keyboard tail connection.

Q:

what is error code F 02 mean

A:

Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

The "F02" fault code displays when the drain time exceeds 8 minutes. This can happen if the drain pump filter is restricted or if there is too many suds due to the wrong type of detergent being uses or too much detergent being used.

I added an image below showing how to access the drain pump filter. NOTE: Be sure to have all the water removed from the tub before removing the drain pump filter. You will also need to disconnect the power cord from the power source before removing the front lower access panel.

A:

Bryan,
It should fit. I double-checked the model number you submitted. I am glad to see that this model does have a temp alarm. If the temperature reaches an unsafe level, the alarm will sound and the light will blink. If it did not have an alarm, I was going to recommend purchasing an aftermarket alarm. I had an older freezer without an alarm. One of the kidos opened the door to grab a pizza and did not close it all the way. A few days later, we had a huge mess and lost most of the meat. The cost of the alarm is much less than the meat we lost.
